Today’s fun Post is going be a little bit different since we’re celebrating mashujaa day here in Kenya imma be dropping some cool facts about my country !!! Because that’s how much I love Kenya and being Kenyan.

Mashujaa day is heros day in Swahili ,on this day we celebrate the hero’s who fought for the freedom of this county so that we could attain independence, before independence all African men were required by low to carry a pass/ kipande that had all the persons info of where they worked, ethnic group etc. Kenyans saw their land being him given to white soldiers from England while they were forced into slums like kibera.

These heroes gave up everything including there families to stay in the forest and fight for our freedom and we acknowledge what they did and I personally don’t take this matter lightly I’m grateful to this great leaders that made sure we were free by 1963 to date.

Fun fact Friday (9)

Welcome to Fun Fact Friday but its Saturday ,they say better late than ever 🙊 🙊

I encountered a set back and lost everything I’d written so I had to start all over !! So here goes fun serious facts about the pupil, iris etc.👇

The pupil is a dark hole located in the center of the eye as you can see in the image above. It appears black because light rays entering the pupil are either absorbed by the tissues inside the eye directly or absorbed after diffuse reflections within the eye that mostly miss exiting the narrow pupil.

The iris is the part that’s surrounding the pupil( black hole). Its a circular membrane that contacts and expands the pupil in order to let light into the interior of the eye. Its available in three colours blue, brown and green.

  • Human pupils are round in shape unlike Other animals like goats and cats that have horizontally oriented pupils and vertical slit pupils.
  • When it’s dark the pupils get wider but narrower in light.when wide the diameter is 3 to 8 millimeters ,when narrow the diameter is 2 to 4 millimeters.
  • The size of pupils does vary in age, when at the peak age of 15 ,the dark pupil can vary from 4 mm to 9 mm with different individuals. After 25 years of age the average pupil size decreases, though not at a steady rate .
  • A finger print has 40 unique characteristics, but an iris has 256 a reason retina scans are increasingly being use for security purposes
  • Each of your eyes have a small blind spot in the back of the retina where the optic nerve attaches. You don’t notice the hole in your vision because your eyes work together to fill in each others blind spot.
  • Blue eyes are usually brown underneath and as a result there exists laser surgeries to turn brown eyes blue.
  • Apparently the pupil can expand 45% when looking at someone you love or looking at someone you don’t love / like.
  • Pain makes the pupil to dilate.
  • Exta fact, The eye is the second most complex organ after the Brain.
  •  The End……

Fun fact friday (8)

It’s been a while since I did a Triple F but I’m back with a bang. I have been thinking a lot about my brand and what I really want to do and represent. But don’t you worry your girl is not going anywhere but I’m going to do a post on all of my issues so be on the look out……

Today we’re focusing on a few interesting and weird facts about Eyelashes.👇

An Eyelash is hair that grows at the edge of the eyelid to protect the eye from dust, dirt, insects (debris). They are sensitive to being touched hence providing a warning that an object is near the eye, making it close.

>>Fun facts <<

  • There are people who pull out eyelashes, scalp hair etc. And its a disorder called trichotillomania.
  • Eyelash hair is not affected by puberty.
  • There’s a small harmless mite that lives in eyelashes and other hair follicles. 98% of people have this mites living in them. Its called demodicid or demodex folliculorum. (what the h***)
  • Lashes have three growth periods, the active growth period (anagen) ,the resting period (catagen) and the resting period (telogen). 90% of your lashes are in active growth where they grow about 16 millimeters a day. If you trim your lashes they’ll just grow back after five months though.

  • As you grow older your lashes change in the fullness or length. Its natural for lashes to thin, just as the strands of your head hair do. To keep your lashes looking strong and healthy add supplements like B vitamins biotin to your daily supplement routines.
  • Lashes are thicker on top,the upper lid usually has 200-300 lashes while the lower lid has 75-100 lashes. Middle lashes are generally longer that the side lashes,so as you apply that mascara keep that in mind.

    Which fact was your fav??

    My skin chronicles

    Story Time

This is much more of a personal post since my skin is the point of discussion here, but I can finally tell it to the world that I’ve been struggling with my skin since 2015. Before my skin uproar I had flawless skin. I can remember people in school telling me how they wish they had smooth and even skin like mine.

It all began when I went to a photo shoot somewhere in CBD Nairobi for a modelling agency and they had to of course beat our faces for an extra fee of 350 or 300.I was excited since I had never been to or participated in a photo shoot before,so being the last minute rush type of person that I am,I brought new clothes the day before and my mum had of course accompanied me (my sponsor).

I works up so early parked my few clothes since I was doing a fancy, casual, (I can’t remember the rest) photoshoot. I took breakfast while I was standing because of how tensed I was. I rushed out of the house and met up with the family friend that had told my parents about this modelling/advertising agencies and we left for town.

When we arrived I had to sign some confidential forms and agree to the terms and policies of the agency. We were being charged 2k to register and they would take care of everything else. They were all friendly and nice to me but I was still freaking scared because this was so new to me and to be honest I had never thought of modelling before since I had fats in all the wrong places in highschool. (team love hundles).

After all the formalities we were taken to the changing room, then the photoshoot area where this MUA was waiting to beat our faces.I paid my 300bob ready to be glamed up and to be honest she did quite a good job. The photoshoot was successful,I took all the selfies I could that day and went home really happy.

A month later I woke up with a big pimple on my face, I wasn’t really alarmed since it was just one. A few days later they were three ,after a week I was bumpy all over. I become so worried and stressed out since I hadn’t had break outs since 2007.I drunk loads of water tried to wash my face twice a day,got facials and finally the break out reduces but left me with scars.

To date I still break out but not as I used to before ,my scars are not as visible as they were, they’re slowly fading. It’s already week 3 of no milk + dairy products, there’s not muchbof a difference so far,so I’m definitely going back to my normal routine after a week and try to figure out what does and doesn’t work for me.

I’d love to see my skin all smooth and even just like it was!! So I won’t stop trying to fix it (naturally of course). I still love me with them flaws though.

Take Note, whenever you go for a photoshoot or an event where the make-up artist is solo ,ask her to sanitize her brushes and sponges (as you see) or you can put all the make-up videos on YT and IG to use and beat your face instead.

Thank you for taking your time to read my post, you’re highly appreciated and valued, drop a comment, like ,share and subscribe if your new.

    What’s your skin chronicle??

    Remember to smile,laugh and love!
